Metal or Nonmetals Lab
You will be given the materials below. How will you test to determine if the substances are
metals or non-metals?

Substances:
penny, paper clip, rubber band, paper, aluminum foil, copper wire
Tools:
Electrical source, alligator clips, and light bulb
Light source
Thermometers
Heat source
Write a lab report describing your efforts including a data table. The report should be based upon the
model on Page 1 of your Journal.
